Bendigo Youth Choir to perform at Olympic welcoming home
THE Bendigo Youth Choir will perform a collection of classic songs at the official welcome home parade for Australia’s 2012 Olympic team in Federation Square.
The choir was invited by Premier Ted Baillieu and will perform the national anthem, Waltzing Matilda and Festive Alleluia.
The group took out three silver medals at the recent World Choir Games.
Choir president Mandy Cooper said the group was looking forward to performing on a big stage, as well as meeting the Olympians.
“This is a very high profile event that will be telecast live on the day and a fantastic opportunity for the choir to showcase their amazing talents,” she said.
