URBAN & STREET ART; calling for submissions.

For those of you who haven't heard - The Melbourne Stencil Festival is changing.... this year we are SWEET STREETS - a festival of Urban and Street art opening on the 8th of October and running until the 24th October, featuring all kinds of exhibtions, and events surrounding urban and street art culture.
With a more all-inclusive mission statement, SWEET STREETS wishes to both support professionalism of urban art styles in the galleries, and the continuation of art in the streets.
We welcome all styles in this years festival from, and inspired by the street - including.... stencil art, graffiti, painting, sculpture, installation, collage and mixed media, custom toys, wall drawings, illustration, graphic design, video art, stickers, knit graffiti and more! We would like to see as much as possible and encourage artists to step out of their creative comfort zones.
We are currently taking entries for our prestigious award exhibition which will be held at the hub of the festival - 1000 Pound Bend (ltl Lonsdale St, Melbourne). The entry form is attached here. This show is already set to feature installations by Apeseven, Beastman and Max Berry, as well as works by local legend Haha, and international street artists DRYPNZ (NZ), Mat Benote (UK), Fab Family (Indonesia), Clogtwo (Singapore), filmwork by Zevs (france) and signed prints donated by Shephard Fairy. Submit your works to show alongside these amazing artists and more!
We also ask artists to express their interest in taking part in street-art events and/or creating their own project to run alongside the festival program. Just shoot us an email - we would love to hear from you.
All submissions close on the 22nd August. We look forward to your participation this year!
You can check out more information and submission forms etc over at the website here; http://www.sweetstreets.net/
