Easy A is one of the best teen comedies since Mean Girls. The characters are vibrant and colourful and the script is witty and delivered floorlessly by lead star, Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone). Olive plays the role of an average but quietly confident and intelligent teenager who takes on the persona of a scarlet woman after telling a white lie that instantly elevates her social status at Ojai North High School.

The cast is tight with Olive’s best, but not so loyal friend (Aly Michalka) delivering some sterling one liners. Marianne Bryant played by (Amanda Bynes) is the school’s over-zealous Christian leader who provides a humorous antagonist to the plot and Olive’s liberated and unconventional parents (Stanely Tucci and Patricia Clarkson) add another dimension to this laugh out loud comedy.

As Olive goes down the hilarious road of a bad reputation, the story covers much ground; a love interest, infidelity, peer pressure, homosexuality, religious ideals, social stigmas and a few racy outfits to boot but the film is not compromised by the themes, rather they seamlessly support the fast-paced wit of the film.

Easy A could make Emma Stone the new Hollywood sweetheart. It is a film not to be missed and should appeal to teenagers and parents of teenagers.

Released on DVD and Bluray on December 21st , 2010.
