Jack and Jill (PG)

Jack and Jill is Adam Sandler’s new comedy, he plays Jack Sadelstein who works in advertising in Las Angeles.  He also happens to play his twin sister Jill who visits once a year, however this time longer than usual.

Jack’s wife Erin (played by Katie Holmes) tries to soften Jack’s emotions towards his sister who appears to anger him often. His son is somewhat of a character, constantly sticky taping random objects to his body, while his daughter dresses her doll in the exact same outfit as herself. I didn’t think Holmes was such a strong actress but she held the family together, so it seemed to work.

Jill is unable to find a guy who doesn’t end up running from her until one night during some “twin time” at the Basketball; Al Pacino (himself) has a strong love interest in Jill. While Jack has other plans for pushing this romance, Jill isn’t buying it.

You will also notice the regulars from other Sandler films, and surprisingly a moment with Johnny Depp.

I think that Sandler’s earlier films such as Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore to name a few will always have its charms, however this one is definitely one to see with the family but also to see Sandler’s thighs in some the dress outfits are quite hilarious.

Jack and Jill is now screening at the Bendigo Cinemas, check the website or newspaper for session times.
