Midnight screening - The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn Part 1

Later last night I lined up in the line with my sister outside the Bendigo Cinemas with a huge amount of Twilight fans waiting to be seated into Cinema 1. People were even in their pajamas, I wish I had been that game.

Everyone was eventually inside waiting anticipation for the lights to dim and the film to start. As soon as the credits began there was cheering.

I am not a huge fanatic over the franchise that is Twilight but I had never had a midnight film experience.

Edward Cullen {Robert Pattinson} and Bella Swan {Kristen Stewart} are to be married, which starts the story off. Alice Cullen, played by Ashley Greene is the wedding organizer and it is stunning; hand crafter bench seats, flowers hanging from above, with a moss and flower covered floor.

I found after this as they go on their honeymoon it did drag on a little with a few repetitive scenes until Bella is in the kitchen eating, running off to be sick soon afterwards, then the storyline really kicks in.

It was then back to Forks where the wolf pack find out the news of the pregnancy and aren’t happy about it. Here Jacob Black {Taylor Lautner} leaves the pack to defend the Cullen’s and to protect Bella. Soon Bella becomes rather ill physically; losing weight and rather pale with not being able to consume anything.

I wasn’t sure in parts either with this film as there were weird, experimental like visual scenes with some being slightly disturbing. So hence why it felt like it was filmed differently to the other 3. It was interesting to say the least.

Having said that I am looking forward to seeing Part 2 when it eventually screens, as having not read the books I am unsure as to what to expect. I also don’t want to be so judgmental about it in comparison.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 opens today at the Bendigo Cinemas, check the newspaper and website for screening times.
