Due to urgent repair works required at the Heathcote Swimming Pool, a shuttle service will provide swimmers with a free bus service to the Bendigo Aquatic Centre.  

City of Greater Bendigo Mayor Cr Alec Sandner said "Repair works to the underground pipes are necessary following a breakage earlier this week. The repair works are significant and swimmers will see a major improvement to the clarity and quality of water once completed."

From Monday 9 January through to and including Thursday 12 January 2012 a shuttle bus will depart from the Heathcote Swimming Pool to the Bendigo Aquatic Centre at 10am and 1pm and the return journey from the Bendigo Aquatic Centre to Heathcote Swimming Pool at 2pm and 5pm.

Axedale police station will also be included as a drop off and pick-up point along the way.

 “Community members are reminded that swimming is one of the most popular participation activities in Australia and that the City provides 13 facilities for our community. While enjoying yourselves make sure to play it safe by the water” said Cr Sandner.
