BEST Community Development is a not for profit Community Organisation. The Bendigo office of BEST Community Development opened for business on the 1st July, 2003 with a single business focus – to deliver the full range of Job Services. This involves registering, assessing and assisting those looking for employment into meaningful work. Clients range from the short term unemployed to those who are very long term unemployed and who face multiple barriers to employment.Since May 30th, 2005 BEST Community Development Bendigo has moved into other services including room hire, conference facilities and training. Our client base consists of businesses wishing to employ staff, jobseekers from all demographics as well as businesses, community groups and organisations looking to hire rooms and conference facilities.The Bendigo office has experienced rapid business growth throughout its 5 years of operation and continues to grow with the recent commencement of the Skills Stores program. Skills Stores is exclusively offered through BEST in the Bendigo region and provides free professional advice and information to members of the public about vocational education and training. Offering a diverse range of programs and services to the community including:

Career On Track (CVGT): offers up to 6 hours of fre one-on-one career counselling provided by a qualified careers counsellor. If you are uner 19, haven't finished Year 12, and are not in education,e training or full time employment, you can access Career On Track, a new Victorian Government initiative.Offering - Free Career Advice - including identifying careers most suited to your personality & skills, developing career goals and creating a Career Action Plan with steps to reach your career goals. We will also create and/or update your resume, application letters, job seeking skilss and interview technique. Follow the link or call 0429 438 611.
Centrelink: can support job seekers with a range of services and programs and provide assistance with accessing with Youth and Newstart Allowance.
Connect Central: St Lukes Anglicare provides personalised case management support and assistance specifically directed to young people's needs, to enable them to sustain engagement in education, training or employment. Tradestart: is an operational metal fabrication workshop providing industry exposure to young people who are at risk of disengaging from school or who have left school and are unemployed. Students learn the skill of welding and general metal fabrication with the aim that theu either reingage in full time education or move into sustainable employment. Tradestart is staffed by a full time tradesman/supervisor, a part time tradesman and a youth support/employment mentor. Contact 5446 7046.
The GLLEN: Goldfields Local Learning and Employment Network covers 3 Local Government areas including City of Greater Bendigo, Shire of Central Goldfields & Shire of Mt Alexander. The GLLEN will work within the Goldfields Region to build sustainable partnerships that support young people to reach their potential and make a succesful transition through school to further education or training or work. Partnerships are formed with Education and Training, Business and Industry, Parents and Families, Community Groups. There is no cost for services. More information is available by calling 5441 1444.
