Aidan Sanders is returning for a third year on Youth Council, bringing experience, consistency, and a strong commitment to representing young people across the community. Over the past two years, Aidan has been an active advocate in council discussions, community forums, and youth-led initiatives, ensuring that young voices are heard where decisions are made. 

In his third term, Aidan’s priorities are clear and grounded in community need. Public safety remains a key focus, with a strong emphasis on creating safer public spaces for young people to live, work, and socialise. Aidan is particularly passionate about safety on public transport, advocating for well-lit stations, improved services, and policies that ensure young people feel safe and confident travelling at all hours. 

Aidan is also a committed ally to First Nations communities, supporting meaningful engagement, truth-telling, and respectful recognition of culture and history in local decision-making. In addition, he continues to champion the rights, visibility, and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ young people, working to ensure council spaces and services are inclusive, welcoming, and free from discrimination. 

Returning with experience and a strong sense of purpose, Aidan Sanders is focused on delivering practical outcomes, amplifying diverse voices, and helping build a safer, more inclusive future for all young people.
