Augustine Leung is 18 years old, and this is his first year on The City of Greater Bendigo’s Youth Council.

He is a student, a volunteer, a worker, a performer, a musician, a brother, and a son. Augustine’s family comes from a wide array of backgrounds, with a Singaporean mother and a Hong Kongese father. Now, his family calls Bendigo their home. 

Augustine’s extensive music training has allowed him to work with different people from various backgrounds, exposing him to other like-minded young people with a similar passion for music. 

Now, Augustine wants to continue his passion for community service. He aspires to be a voice for young people, especially those with multicultural backgrounds. His passions include making Bendigo an even better place to live, as well as supporting independent and small businesses to retain professionals in all fields. Augustine sees the potential for Bendigo to become a hub for regional Victoria. 

He is interested in foreign languages, global politics, swimming, motorsport and walking the family dog, amongst other hobbies. 

Augustine is looking forward to working with the Youth Council to serve the wider Bendigo community.
