Youth Councillor Ava Parker

Ava Parker is a proud 22-year-old Bendigo local who has lived in the community for over two decades. She currently works with the Bendigo Sustainability Group and volunteers as Co-Director of the Bendigo Sustainability Festival, where she is motivated by equity, wellbeing, and community-led change.
Ava has completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, which strengthened her understanding of how safe environments and social influences affect wellbeing across the lifespan. With 2026 as her first year in the Bendigo Youth Council, Ava strives to advocate for young people by identifying and challenging gaps in existing systems. Passionate about health promotion and preventative policy, Ava focuses on how environments, lifestyle, and social expectations influence quality of life. Following a vegan lifestyle for six years, she is particularly driven to promote healthier, more sustainable lifestyles.
Outside of her professional and advocacy work, Ava enjoys spending time in nature, including camping, hiking, and kayaking, as well as reading, slowing down, and enjoying a cup of tea.
