I would like to encourage all peers to join in with the learning opportunities that come within creative writing.

My experiences within creative writing:

I originally selected creative writing as a top elective in thought THAT writing would never be more than a unvoluntary TASK. I was wrong, I GREW PASSION for creative writing, and It exceed my expectations in many criteria’s. my first few classes involved small, engaging activities. As a class we were given five minutes to start an introduction from a given prompt. thesis prompts ranged from weirdest quirks to living in a family of convicts. My first key assessment task was about a lady starting in a new environment after her parent’s death. during her first day she's met with an eerie man, with high contrast features, and an obsessive relationship with the main character. I spent about a week writing my tale, and I was very satisfied with the end result. By this time, this is when I knew I had found my people.

My class had many lovely people, who all had stories to tell, but didn’t know where to start. Creative writing taught it all, we wrote our stories, and we made it into art. Creative writing is an experience I know I will never forget. I’ll continue to write my stories, and eventually I want to write to help others.

If you were to ask why creative writing was important to me, I’ll likely say

Creative writing is an opportunity for peers to voice their opinions as blatantly as they feel. Writing is used in many ways like expressing emotions that feelings can’t describe. Writing helps regulate emotions, and put it into something valuable, it brings people with similar passion and interest closer, provokes the reader to have a more OPEN-MINDED view, brings people with comfort in who they may be, and provides a learning opportunity for both the audience and the author. 

This happens because while explaining to others, you learn to strengthen your ability to comprehend your work, the meaning behind it, and why it’s important, all while teaching others.
