Jack Smith

Meet Jack! Jack is 19 years old and studies a Bachelor of Applied Science/ Master of Occupational therapy at Latrobe Bendigo.

 

Jack is living on campus at Latrobe Bendigo but originally comes from the North-western town of Mildura.

 

Jack began his leadership journey at primary school where he was the school captain and continued being involved with leadership by being on the executive SRC group in high school and often engaging in school debating and other community projects.

 

Jack has many interests such as the arts and music, community sport, mental and physical health advocacy, sustainability, and youth engagement.

 

Jack is a member of the 2019/20 Victorian youth congress, the Orygen Youth action committee, the Vice-chair of Headspace Mildura and is a two-time youth parliamentarian and former Opposition leader. Jack is now currently volunteering as the parliamentary and industry liaison for Youth Parliament Victoria.

 

Jack joined the Youth council to continue to share his voice and advocate for the young people of the Bendigo area. 

 

Jack especially wants to make sure young people can create change in areas that young people are often excluded from, as these issues will still seriously affect young people in the future
