Khayshie Tilak Ramesh | Youth Mayor

Khayshie is in her final year of Law at La Trobe University Bendigo. She is currently completing her honours thesis on whether ktrconflict of interest regulations disadvantage regional Victorian boards.

She is a Non-Executive Director of Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services and Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre. Khayshie is also the Multicultural Ambassador for Bendigo Foodshare and sits on the Bendigo Economic Strategy Steering Committee and the Ambulance Victoria Community Advisory Committee. She has previously served on the Multicultural Youth Network, LEAD Loddon Murray, Young People for Refugees and the National Rural Law and Justice Alliance.

Khayshie has worked as a Dispute Resolution sessional teacher at La Trobe University and is a trained mediator. She is also a student ambassador for La Trobe University. Khayshie enjoys public speaking and facilitating independent workshops for both youth and industry.

Khayshie was Young Citizen of the Year in 2017 and has been named in the Top 100 Future Leaders of Australia. She is a graduate of the Inaugural Joan Kirner Young and Emerging Women Leaders Program and was named as the Law Student of the Year 2019 across Victoria. Khayshie is currently the Multicultural Youth Commissioner for Victoria.

Khayshie is interested in youth advocacy, governance, multiculturalism and performing arts. She is keen to build capacity in the local community and ensure that all young people in Bendigo have the opportunity to excel in their field of choice.
