Pronouns: (They/Them)
Levity Camilleri looks forward to taking on the responsibilities of Youth Mayor for 2025. A proud representative of Bendigo's vibrant LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities, they are excited to continue their love for activism in their second year of Youth Council as well as within their school community as they enter year 12 at Bendigo Senior Secondary College.
Whilst they study year 12, they also will be taking the Politics, Philosophy and Economics subject at La Trobe University via the Centre for Higher Education Studies. They are excited for the opportunity to showcase their passion for education and knowledge.
During their first year serving on Youth Council, Levity strove to take on as many opportunities as were possible, leading them to accept the responsibility of Deputy Youth Mayor in July.
Other accomplishments included being an enthusiastic contributor to the Engagement, Experience and Advocacy working groups and becoming a member of the Goldfields Local Learning and Employment Network (GLLEN) and La Trobe Oral Health Awareness Social Media committee.
They were also honoured to be the MC for the IDAHOBIT flag raising ceremony and a co-MC for the Wear it Purple Day party. They continued to pursue their passion for representing the City of Greater Bendigo Youth Council by going on the radio, and as part of the Create Lab funding social media campaign, and as an attendee of countless discussions and meetings.
Outside of the Youth Council, Levity has previously been involved with student leadership and community-based activism for peace. They are a strong advocate for the values of diversity and compassion and lives by them in both their leadership and their everyday life.
