Lost in Past Interview

By Connor Findlay -YO Media Journalist, 04 February, 2026

I recently had a chance to interview the young and upcoming band, Lost in the Past. We were delighted to hear back from lead guitarist and vocals, Aaron who answered our burning questions. They were also keen to promote their recent single, “Seat by the Fire”, available now on streaming platforms. You can also watch it below at the bottom of the webpage

CF: Tell us a bit about the whole band.

LP: Hey, my name is Aaron Pearce, I’m the lead guitarist and main vocals. We also have Riley Hayes on the drums, and Hayden Beckar on rhythm guitar. The band was formed in mid-2024, mostly just for fun, couple guys having a jam. We had a school talent show, and I came up with lost in the past, after scrolling through Spotify, looking at different names. We’ve had a few gigs since we formed as well. Riley joined in July 2025, and Hayden became a member in December 2025, only very recently

CF: When did you start? How did you all come together?

LP: I met Riley through Greg at Muso Stuff on Mitchell Street, near the train tracks. Hayden and I know each other through school.

CF: What are some of your inspirations for music?

LP: Our big inspirations and influences come through heavy metal and heavy rock. Avenged Sevenfold are some of them Ozzy Osbourne, and we also get our sounds from Metallica, Iron Maiden, System of a Down and  AC/DC to name a few

CF: Where can our readers listen to your music?

LP: We have two singles out, Set by the Fire debuting on the 28th of January. You can hear us on all your favourite streaming platforms, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music

CF: Do you have any live events coming up in the near future?

LP: We’re playing at the American Hotel, Echuca on February 13th. We’ll also be playing at Creatures of Habit in Fitzroy, opening for Ramstone on the 18th. We’ll also be at the Golden Vine in Bendigo, on the 21st. You can keep up to date with our gigs here: https://linktr.ee/lostinthepastofficial#533989325

CF: If you could open for any live musician in the world, who would it be?

LP: Personally, I’d want to open for Metallica, without a doubt. Knowing the other two, I’d say Riley would go with Deftones, and Hayden would wanna open for Slipknot or Linkin Park.

CF: Anything else?

LP: We have merch available via BandCamp in a Linktree on our Instagram page. We’re also looking for a bassist too. You can also follow us on Instagram, where we post frequently, Lostinthepastofficial_
