Catherine McAuley College- YO Bendigo Tours 2025

By Lily Andrews, 08 April, 2025

Over a two-week period in March and April 2025, students from Catherine McCauley College visited YO Bendigo for a series of short sessions to learn about YO Bendigo’s programs and activities, and to tour the building.

Before coming to YO Bendigo, students visited a few other organisations such as Headspace Bendigo, Aglicare Victoria and Bendigo Community health Services.

The last stop of the day for students was YO Bendigo and during these visits, they found out about the Youth Council, YO Media, YO events, micro-credential training and upcoming workshops, activities, and events like YO Easter fest that is coming up.

Each presentation included showing them the website and where they can go to sign up to different programs or activities such as workshops, micro credential training and the YO Media/YO Events team.

After finding out what YO Bendigo does and the programs that are provided, students were then given a tour of our space. In the tour they were shown all the meeting rooms and the foyer where many of the programs and activities happen, such as meeting of the various groups and dungeons and dragons.

There was an opportunity for enthusiastic students to ask questions at the end of the session, and they were also asked to answer some questions that were based on the information they learned today so they could receive some prizes!

There were a total of 6 classes that came in over a two-week span, with a total number of 294 students attending.

Overall, it was a great chance for students to be able to visit YO Bendigo and find out the range of programs we provide and meet a few friendly faces from YO. Now these young people know where to go for training and other activities and also know where to ask about youth programs.
