Geared4Careers- YO Bendigo tour

By Lily Andrews, 11 April, 2025

On Tuesday, April 8th, eight young participants from Geared 4 Careers visited YO Bendigo to explore the programs and activities we offer, and how we can support them in their future pathways.

Kicking off the day in the Green Room with an introduction and overview of YO Bendigo, the highlight of the day was welcoming Youth Mayor Levity Camilleri, Deputy Youth Mayor Alyssa Beaton, Ambedo Editor Connor and YO Events team members Moon and Bryce. Our guests spoke on their respective teams; Youth Council, YO Media and YO Events, sharing their experiences and how being part of the programs have fueled their personal development and supported their goals and pathways.

Following the presentations, the participants enjoyed a tour of the YO Bendigo facilities along with and a delightful morning tea with a variety of delicious options. During this time participants were able to enjoy the facility and break into small groups to enjoy some fun activities such as card games, drawing and using the Nintendo switch.

To wrap up the visit, everyone gathered in the green room to ask questions, provide feedback, and discuss the new information they had learned. Each participant received a YO tote bag filled with merch and flyers about the different programs and activities mentioned throughout the visit.

Overall, the participants gave positive feedback about the session and had a great time learning about YO Bendigo!
