Lisa Chesters MP Visits YO Bendigo!

By Chelsea Hill, 16 October, 2025

On Wednesday October 15, the YO Bendigo team, together with representatives from Youth Council, the YOMedia team and the YOEvents team were delighted to host Lisa Chesters, Federal Member for Bendigo at YO Bendigo's new office.

YO Bendigo is incredibly excited to announce that we have been successful for the 4th round of the Australian Government's Strong and Resilient Communities - Inclusive Communities Activity (SARC) funding. With this funding, we will supporting young people aged 12 - 18 who are disengaged or at risk of disengagement through 2 programs delivering opportunities for young people to gain the skills, confidence and relationships required to participate in community, employment and education in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Our project, Level-up & Overcome, will allow the YO Bendigo team to deliver a number of very exciting youth programs, workshops, trainings, events and activities in the next 2 years.

Lisa Chesters visited our new office this week to share the exciting news. Make sure to watch ABC and Win News to catch Lisa Chesters, alongside Jess Howard, Director Healthy Communities & Environments and our Youth Mayor Levity Camilleri talking about the fantastic opportunities this grant will fund.

We were also joined by Deputy Youth Mayor Bailey Dolan, Youth Councillors Aidan Sanders, Amelia Westbrook and Ella Filsell, Ambedo Magazine and Blog Editor, Connor Findlay and Moon Vincent representing the YO Events team.

YO Bendigo would like to thank the Australian Government and Lisa Chesters for this support in creating positive outcomes for young people.

We look forward to sharing more details about our project and the opportunities it will provide in the next few weeks - watch this space!
