The Koorie Youth Flick Fest is going to Fed Square 🎥

By Chelsea Hill, 23 June, 2025

Celebrate NAIDOC Week and join us at Fed Square for a very special screening of this year's winning Koorie Youth Flick Fest films!

The Koorie Youth Flick Fest is a short filmmaking competition for First Nations young people living in Central Victoria, delivered by the City of Greater Bendigo and YO Bendigo. The competition runs during National Reconciliation Week each year and the winners are announced and screened at the launch of the Central Victorian Indigenous Film Festival. This year's films were focused on the theme 'My Mob, My Place'.

Fed Square is again getting involved with special screenings of the winning films! They will play throughout NAIDOC Week on the big screen.

Everyone is invited to stop by and watch on the big screen. Check out the full event on the Fed Square website!

This year's winners were proud Gundjitmara man, Cohen Barker, with his film proudly sharing stories from his mob and his place and Wiradjuri woman, Terri Flaherty with her candid film about growing up away from traditional land.

You can watch the films on the City of Greater Bendigo's YouTube—but nothing compares to experiencing it on the big screen. Join us for a special screening with the filmmakers and enjoy the stories of the next generation this NAIDOC Week!
