YO Bendigo is Moving!

By Caitlin VanDolderen, 22 August, 2025

We are excited to share that YO Bendigo is moving to a new location just a few doors down, to the second floor of 41 – 43 Mundy Street. We’ll be above the Old Green Bean Café on the corner of Mundy Street and Lyttleton Terrace.

To allow us to make the move from our old premises to our new home nice and easy, YO Bendigo will be closed from Monday, September 22, to Friday, September 26. The team will still be working that week and can be contacted online.

YO Bendigo will reopen on Monday, September 29, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our new space!

We will miss the cosy vibes of our old home but rest assured we are working hard to make sure the new spot feels just as welcoming—whether you’re a young person looking for a quiet place to chill or study, or an organisation wanting to learn more about the programs, events, and opportunities we offer for people aged 12–25 in Greater Bendigo.

We hope moving into the new space is a smooth process for everyone—but we know change can feel a bit weird at first. Once we’ve settled in, we’ll be offering friendly tours and will be ready to greet you, show you around, and help you feel right at home (no awkward “am I in the right place?” moments!).

Additionally, to make things easier, we have added some helpful questions and answers below—but if you have any other questions, feel free to simply just shoot us an email at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help — chances are, someone else is wondering the same thing.

Q&A’s

Why is YO Bendigo moving?

YO Bendigo has been located at 45 Mundy Street, Bendigo, for more than 15 years. In 2024, YMCA Victoria, who own the building, advised the City of Greater Bendigo that its lease would not be renewed when it expires in October 2025. This meant that we needed to find new premises for YO Bendigo. As luck would have it, the City was able to secure the new premises for YO Bendigo, located only a few doors away from the existing premises.

When will YO Bendigo move to the new premises?

YO Bendigo will be closed from Monday, September 22, to Friday, September 26, and will reopen on Monday, September 29, on the second floor of 41- 43 Mundy Street, above the Old Green Bean Café on the corner of Mundy Street and Lyttleton Terrace.

Will there be any changes to YO Bendigo programs at the new premises?

YO Bendigo’s main programs, including Youth Council, Ambedo Magazine group, and YO Events team, will still be running. There may be some changes to the days and times of these programs but we’ll keep you in the loop.  There may also be some minor changes to workshops after the move.

Can I still drop in to chill or study?

Absolutely. The new space is still your space! Whether you’re coming in to hang out, get some study done, or just need a third space to feel comfy—we’ve got you.

What accessibility features does the new YO Bendigo location offer?

Our new office on Level 2 at 41–43 Mundy Street includes a lift located just along the corridor from the entrance, past the stairs, as well as an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

What are the features of the new YO Bendigo premises?

The new YO Bendigo premises are located on the second floor of 41 - 43 Mundy Street and feature:

  • Lift and stair access
  • 216 square metres floor area
  • Meeting and activity rooms
  • Kitchenette facilities
  • Toilet facilities
  • Close to Bendigo City Centre and bus routes (5, 61, 62, 63, 50)
