On the 7th of November, Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf was re-elected as Mayor of the City of Greater Bendigo. Cr Matthew Evans was also elected as the Deputy Mayor for the City of Greater Bendigo.
Youth Mayor Ryan Peterson and Deputy Youth Mayor Lilly Correll were invited to the Mayoral and Deputy Mayoral Election Ceremony, where they attended the smoking ceremony, sat in the public gallery for the special meeting, and refreshments after the proceedings.
Chief Executive Officer for the City of Greater Bendigo Craig Niemann acknowledged Youth Mayor Ryan Peterson and Deputy Youth Mayor Lilly Correll's presence in his opening welcome. Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf greeted the audience and recognised the friends, family, colleagues, and community members that have supported this term of Councillors throughout the past few years.
"The meeting was extraordinary, and it was a privilege to be invited," said Deputy Youth Mayor Lilly Correll. "The Greater Bendigo Council works closely with the Youth Council. Being invited to such an important ceremony demonstrates the City's commitment to young people and their overarching aim of true inclusivity."
