Youth Councillor Sharlee Dunolly-Lee

Sharlee Dunolly-Lee is a 22-year-old Djaara woman born in Eaglehawk and working part-time on Dja Dja Wurrung/Taungurung Country.

She is passionate about natural resource management, climate change, healing Country, flora and fauna, health and wellbeing.

She was a representative of the Junior School Council in Grades 5/6 at California Gully Primary School. She began her interest in bush tucker foods at age 16. She has worked with a not-for-profit Indigenous women’s catering group at the Castlemaine Community House since.

At 18, Sharlee began her own loose-leaf tea business Dja-Wonmuruk (“Yes Tea”).

In 2019, Sharlee joined the Me and UooUoo: The RCH150 Anniversary Art Trail. She painted Binbiyal Malamiya (‘Rainbow Dreaming’) to raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.

In 2021, Sharlee completed her Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management at Bendigo Kangan TAFE while completing her traineeship as a Field Officer with her Registered Aboriginal Party.

Sharlee graduated from Cert IV in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management at La Trobe University in 2022 and completed her traineeship as NRM Project Officer
