Last week was National Volunteer Week and the City of Greater Bendigo held its annual National Volunteer Week Morning Tea to recognise the City’s volunteers.
The City of Greater Bendigo Youth Council has just completed their two-day intensive training program, preparing them for this year's exciting opportunities.
On Friday the 24th of November, Greater Bendigo hosted its ‘16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence’ launch. Deputy Youth Mayor Lilly Correll and Youth Councillor Abby Patten had the honour of MCing the event together.
On the 7th of November, Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf was re-elected as Mayor of the City of Greater Bendigo. Cr Matthew Evans was also elected as the Deputy Mayor for the City of Greater Bendigo.
FunLoong Fun Day was held on Saturday 28th of October this year. It is an annual event celebrating Children’s Week running in Greater Bendigo for the past 10 years.
As part of Youth Fest the Youth Council invited any young person interested in joining the Youth Council to come along to one of their meetings so that they could experience what it might be like to be a Youth Councillor
On Saturday 16 September, City of Greater Bendigo Intercultural Ambassadors and Youth Councillors came together to participate in Step Up training facilitated by Natalie Walker from the Victorian Local Government Association (VLGA).
Deputy Youth Mayor Lilly Correll attended the third-ever Women Engaged in Leadership (WE Lead) event held by the Parliament of Victoria in the City of Greater Bendigo on Saturday the 2nd of September.
Deputy Youth Mayor Lilly Correll said, “This event helped to highlight the importance of empowering and training the young people in our region to keep the benefit of the commonwealth games in the community.”
