Clayful Creations Art Workshop

By Jesse Munzel, 18 March, 2026

Clayful Creations is a relaxed, hands‑on clay workshop designed for young people interested in exploring creativity during the school holidays. The session offers a fun, welcoming space to experiment with clay, try new ideas, and enjoy a chilled crafternoon with snacks and supportive guidance. No previous experience is required, and all materials are provided.

This workshop is a great opportunity to connect with others, unwind, and create something unique to take home—whether it’s cute, quirky, or completely unexpected.

Come along, get crafty, and leave with something handmade, personal, and proudly weird (or cute… or both).

What to Expect

Participants will begin with a guided activity: creating a clay disco snail. This introductory project is designed to teach simple shaping, detailing, and finishing techniques suitable for beginners.

After completing the guided piece, participants can move into their own creative concepts. Examples of self-directed projects may include:

  • Dinosaur ring holders
  • Snake or cat computer monitor hangers/buddies
  • Decorative characters, animals, or abstract fridge magnets
  • Any other imaginative clay forms the participant wishes to explore

Facilitators will provide hands-on support, technical advice, and inspiration materials throughout the session. So if you have an idea but don't know where to start or how to create it, our facilitator will be there to walk you through each step.

What's the vibe

The workshop is designed to offer:

  • A calm and welcoming atmosphere with low music playing, with a small room available if, at any point, participants need to step out
  • A social environment where young people can connect with peers
  • A relaxed “crafternoon” feel, with music, conversation, and plenty of time to experiment

What’s Provided

All equipment and materials will be supplied, including:

  • Clay
  • Tools
  • Inspiration resources
  • Snacks and water to keep the creative energy up

Participants only need to bring their creativity.

Fee waiver - $0.00 cost

Through the Australian Government Department of Social Services SARC Grant, we can cover the full cost of tickets for young people who meet the eligibility criteria of being aged 12-18 years. To receive the discount code related to this waiver, complete the self-referral form linked "here". If you are completing the form on behalf of someone, please complete the On behalf of a Youth Referral form here.

Got a Workshop Idea?

Are you a young person with a skill, creative idea, or activity you’d love to run for others?
We’re currently looking for young workshop facilitators to lead sessions by young people, for young people.

You might be into anime or cartoon drawing, sewing, upcycling or fashion DIY, Procreate art or digital illustration, or even slime‑making. Maybe you’d love to run a chatty walking club, host a board‑gaming or video‑gaming day, share your best Sims hacks and build tips, or help others start a small craft side‑hustle. If you have any fun, creative, social, or skill‑building ideas you think other young people would enjoy, we’d love to hear from you!

You’ll get support to run your workshop, materials provided, and yes—you’ll get PAID for delivering it.

Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services
