Come along to our creative Crafter‑noon workshops, where you will learn how to build elaborate decorations with basic materials, experiment with painting, and create bold decorations for a real event. These sessions are all about hands‑on making, trying new techniques, and developing creative skills while getting ready for our upcoming event, the Winter Ball!

This series of Crafter‑noons is hosted by local creative and YO Events team member Bee, who will support you through the creative process and show you how simple materials can be transformed into eye‑catching event décor.

Join Bee for one or all sessions and get involved in making these fun decorations for the Winter Ball: 

Session 1: Build and paint a photobooth backdrop and turn paper into elaborate snowflakes

Session 2: Turn everyday mason jars into beautiful winter-themed table centerpieces 

Session 3: Weave and thread with Bee as we create beautiful tapestries for wall decorations 

Session 4: Building, painting, sewing, drawing - turn your art event ready!

Whether you already love crafting or want to build confidence by trying something new, these workshops are a fun and welcoming way to be part of a big community event.

What to expect

• Hands‑on crafting and decoration‑making with all art supplies provided
• Guided support where you will learn new techniques, with freedom to add your own creative style
• Create a winter themed photobooth, table center-pieces, wall decor and other themed decorations
• Music and snacks while you work
• Great conversations with other creative young people and plenty of good vibes!

What to Bring

All equipment is provided, just bring your creative self and old clothes you will not care about if they get a little paint on them. We will also have smocks available for anyone coming after school.

We’re currently looking for young workshop facilitators to lead sessions by young people, for young people.

You might be into anime or cartoon drawing, sewing, upcycling or fashion DIY, Procreate art or digital illustration, or even slime‑making. Maybe you’d love to run a chatty walking club, host a board‑gaming or video‑gaming day, share your best Sims hacks and build tips, or help others start a small craft side‑hustle. If you have any fun, creative, social, or skill‑building ideas you think other young people would enjoy, we’d love to hear from you!
