Jam Sandwich - Youth Stage Takeover

By Jesse Munzel, 24 October, 2025

Jam Sandwich -  a Youth Stage Takeover at Eaglehawk Children's Festival!
Are you a young musician looking to gain confidence, meet other performers, and maybe even land future gigs?

Whether you're just starting out or ready to take the next step, the Jam Sandwich Youth Stage Takeover is your chance to give it a go in a supportive, fun, and family-friendly setting.

As part of the Eaglehawk Children's Festival on the 28th November from 4:30–7:30 pm, this stage takeover event invites young people aged 12–25 to come together, connect, and jam. You’ll have the opportunity to perform between sets from professional and established musicians—think of it as a musical jam sandwich, with emerging talent layered between seasoned acts.

Register Today for a timeslot to perform!

Pre-register by completing the form linked to the right of the screen or here to secure a time slot and help us in planning the lineup. Spontaneous collaborations and performance on the day are also welcome, but registering early just helps us to ensure the stage is all set with all the right equipment and sound set-up you need!

Eligibility and Performance Guidelines:

  • Open to young people aged 12–25 to perform.
  • All performances must be suitable for audiences aged 12 and under—no explicit or inappropriate language, themes, or content.
  • If you require a backing track or additional equipment on the day, please bring it on a USB or device with the appropriate connecting cord, and let us know before the day by emailing [email protected]

What to Expect:

  • A welcoming stage environment for young performers
  • Short performance slots between professional sets—perfect for first-timers or casual jammers
  • Opportunities to meet other musicians, form connections, and collaborate on the spot
  • A relaxed, family-friendly vibe with plenty of support from the crowd and other free activities to enjoy while you are there as part of Eaglehawk Family Fun Day
  • Professional sound setup and stage crew to help you shine
  • A chance to build confidence, showcase your talent, and have fun

This event is supported by the Victorian State Government Amplify program and the City of Greater Bendigo's Community Connections Team. Amplify is a Victorian Government initiative that supports organisations to work alongside young people aged 12 to 25 to create, plan, and deliver drug, alcohol, vape, and smoke-free music, creative arts, and cultural events across Victoria.
