Koorie Youth Flick Fest 2026- Announcement & Screening of Winners
The Central Victorian Indigenous Film Festival (CVIFF) is kicking off with a very special celebration of young local First Nations stories! ✨
The CVIFF is an annual showcase of First Nations films, documentaries and videos screened in local venues to celebrate National Reconcilation Week. Check out the full program for all the activities! Each year, the CVIFF is launched with the announcement and screening of the winners of the Koorie Youth Flick Fest- a short filmmaking competition for young First Nations people in Central Victoria.
This year's event will begin with a Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony in the Bendigo Library Gardens at 4.30pm.
From 5pm, we'll be in the Bendigo Library's auditorium for the announcement everyone's been waiting for - the winning films of the 2026 Koorie Youth Flick Fest! Two winning filmmakers each receive $1000, plus a paid trip to Fed Square for a celebratory lunch and a dedicated screening on the big screen. There are also prizes on offer for films marked as honourable mentions by the judges.
Plus, we'll be joined by local sing/songwriter and proud Noongar woman, Rhaedel Pickett as she shares her experience as young First Nations woman in the creative industry and puts on a very special performance!
Join us for this very special event!
Each year the Koorie Youth Flick Fest opens for entries from February - April, and then the winners are announced and screened during National Reconciliation Week as part of the Central Victorian Indigenous Film Festival (CVIFF). If you're interested in getting involved next year, keep an eye on the YO Bendigo website or join our mailing list for updates.
